Derived from Kodak Double X black and white motion picture film, it was first released in 1959 and has been used in some iconic movie productions (see below).
For best results we recommend rating the film at 200-400 ASA. However it may be pushed to 1600 with requisite changes in processing. Expect much higher contrast negatives than you might obtain from a film like HP5 or FP4 and a “Cinematic” look. Memorable movies that used Double X in their production include: The Lighthouse (2019), Raging Bull (1980), Schindler’s List (1993), Stranger Than Paradise (1984), Malcolm & Marie (2021), Memento (2000), Kafka (1991), Casino Royale (2006), I’m Not There (2007), Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003), Manhattan (1979), Cinderella Man (2005), Aferim!
