We think that this is possibly the finest grain colour negative film available. ISO50. Derived from Eastman Kodak Vision 3 motion picture stock, this is an emulsion formulated for bright and well lit outdoor scenes. This film really excells in very bright and slightly overcast conditions. Infact, at Ag, we’ve shot this film in 16mm and Super8 (as spooled by Pro8mm) motion picture and even from such a small negative, the results are superbly fine grained. However the truly stunning aspect of this film is it’s incredible handling of bright highlights where the finest nuanced detail remains intact.
Originally intended for process ECN2, Cinestill re-engineer the film so as to remove the remjet backing, thereby allowing for development through standard C41 process.
