Its unique low-activity formula, with Metol as the primary developing agent, slows the formation of silver, thereby producing exceptionally fine grain structure and a refined tonal range. This makes it particularly well-suited for large enlargements or images where grain control is critical.

The trade-off for this fine grain performance is a slight loss of effective film speed, so overexposing by approximately one stop is generally recommended for optimal results.
