Ilford PQ Universal Developer is a versatile liquid concentrate designed for the dish or tray developing of all resin-coated (RC) and fibre-based (FB) black and white photographic papers. Delivering a subtly warmer tone than Ilford Multigrade Developer, it is best classified as a neutral-warm tone developer, ideal for achieving rich, balanced prints with a touch of warmth.
PQ Universal can also be used for processing certain technical films, as well as the tray development of general-purpose sheet films, particularly when a fast-working, high-contrast developer is needed and a high degree of enlargement is not a priority. Its flexibility makes it a reliable choice for both darkroom printing and specialist applications.
