Introduced in 1927, D76 has become the worlds most popular film developer and a great general purpose all rounder. There virtually isn’t a film that doesn’t perform well when processed in D76 and it’s thought the reason for this is that manufacturers wont risk releasing a film that doesn’t! D76 and Ilford ID11 are effectively identical formulations.
