Kodak Dektol Paper Developer – 3.8L

Kodak Dektol Paper Developer is a classic, general-purpose black and white print developer that has remained a favorite among darkroom legends like Ansel Adams. Supplied as a powder, it is designed for dish processing of black and white prints, providing reliable, high-quality results every time. To prepare, dissolve the entire packet in 3L of water at 32–38°C, then top up with an additional 800ml to make 3.8L of stock solution.

Store in airtight containers for a maximum shelf life of six months. When ready to use, dilute 1 part stock to 2 parts water. Ideal working temperature is 20°C, with RC papers developing in 60–90 seconds and fibre-based papers in 90–120 seconds. Dektol ensures consistent, sharp prints with rich tonal range, making it indispensable for any serious darkroom.
