Ilford SFX 200 is a creative, near-infrared black and white film with extended red sensitivity up to 740nm. While not a full infrared film, SFX 200 is ideal for producing surreal, dreamlike effects when used with a deep red or infrared filter—dark skies, glowing foliage, and high contrast are all possible with the right technique.

With a native ISO of 200, SFX can be used unfiltered as a standard B&W film, delivering smooth tones and moderate grain. However, it shines when paired with IR filters and longer exposures. For best results, experiment with exposure times and shoot on a tripod. This is a film that encourages creativity and rewards exploration.

SFX 200 is ideal for fine art, landscapes, or experimental work. It develops in standard black and white chemistry.
